Why
Supernatant?
Stem cell culture supernatant refers to the liquid portion that does not contain cells and is a general term for the components of the original culture medium. It contains all physiologically active components secreted by stem cells, including exosomes, cytokines, other proteins secreted by cells, lactic acid, ammonia, and cell debris. Administering this “supernatant,” which contains these physiologically active substances, into the body promotes the regeneration of damaged tissue. “Stem cell culture supernatant” is expected to be more effective than “stem cell culture medium.”

In experiments conducted by our company, the undiluted supernatant solution demonstrated a cell repair rate approximately 2.1 times higher than that of exosomes alone. This suggests that the complex composition of the components provides repair capabilities that cannot be achieved with a single component.

- We conducted the world’s first “prospective interventional study” based on medical evidence involving systemic administration of U-Factor® solution to patients with ALS. The results were presented in March 2026 at the 25th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine.

Study Details
- Evaluation of Safety Following Two Weeks of Continuous Administration
- Eight patients received weekly intravenous infusions of 120 mL of stem cell culture supernatant for a total of 12 weeks. No serious adverse effects were observed, suggesting the treatment is safe for clinical use.
- Signs of Improved Respiratory Function and Slowed Disease Progression
- The results of the efficacy assessment (ALSFRS-R, grip strength, %FVC) showed that in some cases, improvements in respiratory function (%FVC) or a halt in disease progression were observed, suggesting the potential for functional recovery.
